The Personal bests tool displays someone's best efforts based on their Smartabase records. A professional user will be able to see any personal bests for athletes and event forms they have access to, while a non-professional user will be able to view their own personal bests across the event forms they have access to. The information that is available about a personal best includes:
- The metric itself
- Date of achievement
- Ranking within the group environment that has been chosen.
Which measurements appear as personal bests is decided by event form settings, which are customized by the site’s builder. It would be helpful for someone to be able to see their personal best test results or grades, but not to have a personal best for number of concussions, for example.
This example shows the personal bests achieved by an athlete from the Smartabase All Stars, Jamie Anderson. He has personal bests for two event forms – a 40-metre sprint test and the strength testing event form. His personal bests are in the second column, the date that he achieved these results is in the third column, his rank within the group is next (note that we are comparing Jamie to the rest of the Smartabase All Stars), the best value achieved within that group and, lastly, the date the group’s best value was achieved.
Note that there are no filtering options available in this tool, but there is an option to easily change which group you are comparing a user to (users have to be a member of a group to be able to be compared to a group), so we could compare Jamie to the A Squad or the B Squad, for example, depending on which subgroup he belongs to.
