You can manage your app settings in the Smartabase app by navigating to the Settings tab. From here, you can:
- Manage your account settings.
- Update security preferences.
- Configure app preferences.
- Review terms of service.
- Switch accounts.
- Log out.
Managing your account settings
From Settings, select your account at the top of the page and then select Account settings.
In addition to your account details and contact information, you can also change your default language and update your profile picture.
Change your default language
Smartabase supports some frequently spoken languages, in addition to English. These include German, Spanish, Dutch, French, and Simplified Chinese to name a few. Most sites default to the language of the organization's home country, but people who speak one of Smartabase’s supported languages can update their account to choose their preferred language.
Updating the language within your account settings is very straightforward; however, please keep in mind that Smartabase will only translate text that is part of the system itself. If event or profile forms have been created in English and a person has set their language to Spanish, then your organization would need to provide a translation for the terminology used in the forms.
To change the default language on the Smartabase app, you'll need to change the language set in your account details.
- Open the Settings tab.
- Tap your account at the top of the screen, then select Account Settings.
- Select a Language from the drop-down list.
- Select Save changes at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter your current password to confirm the change.
Update your profile picture
To change your profile image from the Smartabase app, you'll need to edit your account details.
- From the app home screen, open the Settings tab.
- Tap your account at the top of the screen, then select Account Settings.
- Tap your profile image.
- From here you’ll have the option to take a new photo or add one from your phone’s photo gallery. Depending on which option you choose here and any permissions you’ve set up before, the Smartabase app might ask you for permission to access your device’s camera or photos.
When you add a profile picture from the app, it’ll update your Smartabase user account everywhere, so your coaches and support staff (or anyone else who is authorized to access any of your Smartabase data) will see your new photo when they review your information.
Professional users are able to view (but not edit) account details for the people they have access to via the athlete selection screen in the data entry process. Go to the Add data tab and, depending on your app preferences, you will either see the athlete selection screen or you will need to first select any event form. Scroll to the furthest right column of the athlete selection table and select the View profile link next to the relevant account.
- Go to the Add data tab.
- Depending on your app preferences, you will either see the athlete selection screen or you will need to first select an event form.
- Scroll to the furthest right column of the athlete selection table and select the View profile link next to the relevant person.
Updating security preferences
Use the Security tab to update your Smartabase password and manage quick login options such as PIN and biometric logins.
Configuring app preferences
Within App preferences, you can customize some interactions within the Smartabase app.
- Sort events chronologically - (non-professional users only) when enabled, events for each day in Recent activities will be sorted oldest to newest.
- Display switch groups as a grid - (professional users only) when enabled, the switching groups interface will display as a grid instead of a list.
- Athlete first data entry workflow - (professional users only) when enabled and entering data, select an person before selecting an event form. Disable this setting to select a form before selecting who to enter the data for.
There are also links to customize the home screen and enable push notifications. If you want to get push notifications (notifications that show up when you're not using the Smartabase app), follow the prompts during the initial app set-up to allow notifications from the Smartabase app. If you skip this step, you can enable notifications later in your phone settings or by navigating to Settings > App preferences > View system settings.
Reviewing terms of service
You can review any additional terms of service that your organization required you to agree to when logging into Smartabase by navigating to Settings > Privacy. You are able to withdraw your consent to your organizations' terms of service at any time. When you do that, your organization will be notified.
To view the terms you have previously accepted or withdraw your consent to any of the terms, you’ll need to follow these steps:
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Open the Privacy settings.
- Select the relevant terms document.
- To withdraw your consent from your organization's terms document, select the Revoke consent and logout button.
- You will be logged out of Smartabase and redirected to the login screen.
If you change your mind, you can log into the app using your Smartabase credentials and agree to the terms again.
Switching accounts
In some instances, people may have multiple Smartabase accounts, either on the same Smartabase site or or multiple sites, if they work with different organizations. It is possible to be logged into the app with multiple accounts simultaneously, however you will only be able to interact as one account at a time.
To switch to another account, go to the Settings tab and select your account at the top of the page. Select Switch accounts.
Here you will see which account you are currently signed in as and any other available accounts. You can add additional accounts by selecting Sign into a new account.
To switch to an additional account, select the Sign in button next to the account name. On the login screen, select the button to continue logging into the account.
Logging out
You can log out of your account in a couple of different ways:
- Go to the Settings tab, select your account at the top of the page then select Sign out.
- When switching accounts, swipe left on any Available accounts and select Remove.
